BartPE

So I made myself a BartPE boot dvd today. Had a couple of things I wanted to ask about. First, it probably takes 5 minutes to boot. Not that I would be complaining if it saved my tail, but is that normal?

Second, after booting to the BartPE desktop it asks if I want to enable the network. I click Ok and then it tries to load the network adapters and fails. If I go into the Go menu and hit Network -> Enable network, or whatever its called, a command window pops up and the tcpip stack and windows client appear to load, but I still can't see any of the other systems. If I then try to mount a network drive it says the network isn't enabled and asks if I want to enable it.

Any thoughts? Rig in sig.

Few things -

1. 3-5 minutes is about normal, on our p4 2.8s at work...

2. The only way I could get my nic to work was by (1) creating a custom plugin to copy my network drivers to the proper location on the disk, aka system32, system, etc. (2) using PeNetCFG instead of the bartpe network config

Ok, guys. Thanks for the tips. I'll look into setting up a custom config to include the network drivers. That's sort of the number one thing I wanted to get out of BartPE, network connectivity so I could easily rebuild my kids' machines.
