Barton XP 2500 Retail $83 at Newegg DEAD now

I've been looking at the 1700+'s for a little while now. But at this price for a Barton, I just changed my mind.

I'm in for one for my 8RDA+.

Thanks Snufalufagus!

wow price continues to drop heh, newegg was selling this for $92 last week when i got mine...i got to say this is a great CPU, runs cool and easily overclockable, mine is running at 43C idle on stock HSF, if u r planning to build a system, this CPU is worth every penny...n of course newegg rocks !!

I'm bumping this one just because it is the lowest price on Pricewatch which is pretty dang cool. This is a great CPU guys, and as noted in the OC forum, is shipping at week 24/25 already, they're selling hot! Oh yea, and the fact that Newegg is the best shipper, customer service, and retailer out there. Seriously, it's free shipping too and at lowest price, what can you possibly ask for?

Picked this up from Newegg a few weeks ago and I don't regret it one bit! Awesome processor and great price.😀

I'm running my 2400+ CPU at 11x200Mhz (3200+ speed). Debating over whether or not to grab one of these for the extra cache benefit 🙂.

It will support it, would be a good upgrade if you had money.

Just dropped to $83. Looks like they're in a price war with Knowledgemicro. 😀

I feel a frenzy brewing...

Jumped all over this one!!! Great deal. It was $90 last night and most likely will go up in the next days. I went ahead and purched a new motherboard, Abit NF7-S nForce2 from googlegear for $114.50 since newegg had it for $123.

No. But you do get the opportunity to spend a lot more money on new memory and a new m/b. Sure, what else are you gonna do with your cash?!

Screw it, for $83, I ordered one. I probably won't notice any difference at all between this and my 2400+ non-Barton, but oh well, people have spent this much on the Star Wars: Galaxies Collector's Edition, so why shouldn't I splurge once and awhile?

Besides, I'm employed again 😉.
