Barton Or TBred

Im about to buy a new CPU but im not sure which one to go for, the Barton 2500 or the TBred 2600 my question is which one will yield best results at stock and which will overclock better? Thanks

At stock settings the 2600+ is superior, just as indiicated by it's performance rating being a 100mhz higher than the Barton. Start overclocking and all bets are off and it will depend on the particular CPU you procure as to which is better.

I went for the TBred purely because the shop had no Bartons and i was too idle to wait for an order ;) im happy with teh results 2:30 for a seti wu aint bad!

I'll be receiving an OEM 2400+ from New Egg ($74) tommorow or Thursday. I'm replacing a hot-running 2.0v Palomino 2100+ so that I can reduce the fan noise and get a little more speed (or maybe a lot, if it does >2100). After I play with it a little I'll let you know the results.

are you going to get a 266 fsb 2600+ or a 333 fsb 2600+

anyway...

which one is cheaper?

i say get the cheaper one...

some people have been able to get over 2600 mhz with a 2600+ 266 fsb version on air with less than 1.85 volts....

:)

but it's hard to find a vendor that sells the 266 fsb version of teh 2600+

anyway...
