Anyone else? I'm contemplating getting one of these and the numbers don't look very promising so far. 🙁

200X10.5, I can run it at 2.2 but it doesn't like to be stable most of the time, and XP doesn't want to boot with the Voltage above 1.75. And even at the speed I'm at now, it doesn't want to run Prime95 without an error immediaetly.

12.5x166 = 2.08 (=2800+ stock) at 1.7V easily

That's as high a multiple as my Asus A7N8X will allow, but I haven't tried upping the FSB yet. I'm sure it has a lot more room, since my idle temps are still in the mid-high 30s using Antec Aeroflow HSF.

do u know ther serial on the chip by any chance?

just got mine in, running it at 220x11 right now at 1.7V..... I was hoping for 2100MHz-2200MHz, but I'll live with 2420MHz 😀

on a A7N8X v2.0, air cooled with a HHC-001... staying around 56C under load

No, I didn't think to check before the install. But from what I hear on the boards, most 2500+ have no problem reaching a 200 or higher FSB (mobo permitting, of course), so I'm sure mine has plenty of room (even under sustained full load, it doesn't go above the low 40s with my HSF as is).

There's a review on OCing the 2500+ at HardOCP, in case you're curious of their batch variability.

Keep in mind, it appears that HardOCP review (April 4) used an A7N8X, not stated which revision. Apparently the pre rev 2.0 A7N8X-Deluxe has a lot of trouble hitting 200+ FSB (the 2.0 usually gets it easily). Also those chips would be a few months older than what is out now.

Still a good reference, just pointing that out 🙂

yea, thats about what I was thinking , around 3400-3500

its almost runs at 2530, but I wasnt interested in bumping the voltage past 1.8V

Glad to see some of the better overclocks being posted now. 🙂 I might just have to take a gamble on one of these..........

I've been testing mine most the day now, I have a Barton 2500+ AQXDA0313WPJW retail-$96 shipped from Newegg and this thing is sweet! :beer: I have it in my SL-75MRN-L NF2 IGP board using the integrated GF4MX and as you can see below it's doing 3200+ 200fsb speed synch on less than default voltage and thus far rock solid. It's been crunching one of the new F@H Gromacs WU's which enables an extra 3DNow! boost for hrs now and has completed numerous 3Dmark run throughs so it's looking like this CPU has some headroom yet! I'll let it go until it finishes the Gromacs and loop some more 3Dmark and then some QIII demo action before moving up the clockspeed, can't go higher on the FSB because the IGP doesn't like it.

CPU-Z

Benchies Take into account when viewing the mem scores that the IGP impacts the bandwidth. Thanx to the Barton's extra cache I was able to finally break through the 6000 barrier with the IGP 3Dmark2k1se=6001 only 8 points outta 3rd place now.

I'm both impressed and stoked with this Barton and :heart:ly recommend you grab one. BTW, the stock HS/F is nicer than I expected from past experience with retail AMD coolers though I don't know how well it cools since I'm planning to use it on a client's rig.
