Barton 2500

Mine does 2200 at 1.65v. Never tried any higher. 😕

My brothers does the same at 1.75v... won't go any higher. 😕

I have a mobile 45watt 2500+ Barton doing 2.4gig@1.7v, but I also had a slew of desktop 55watt 2500+ Bartons and 2.2 @1.75v was hit and miss. I did go thru several that were 2.3gig@1.75v no problem.

A good PSU will help. Keep an eye on that +5v rail as you overclock and make sure it does'nt drop as you crank up the vcore.

What can I expect to O/C a Barton 2500 Xp to using Asus A7N8XE DELUXE.
Members stats would be great.

Do you know it's date? If it pre-week 39 2003, its s/have an unlocked multi.

Older ones tended to OC better than new. I think the best silicon started to be put towards the mobile chip in mid-to-late 2003.

I have week 41 2003, bah maybe 11 x 192. Couldn't reach 3200 speeds (2200mhz). Or least I didn't wanna volt it high enough. My cooling was marginal.

If you haven't purchased it yet. Get a mobile.

If you get the stepping codes off the chip, it will have that data (date) as well as indicate which fab plant it came from, or maybe its the just "batch". As you may know, most think these codes (stepping code) provide some indication of how well an OC you may get.

Also this SITE has a database of OCing. So you can look how Bartons, with the same or other stepping codes, are reported to OC (along with vcore and cooling methods).

To see the stepping codes printed on the chip, you'll have to at least remove the HS+F. Although with my poor eyes I generally need to remove it from the mobo and use a magnifying glass 🙂 (When I buy a chip these, I just write this stuff b4 I install it)
