I see a lot of these posts around, so i guess ill make mine too, im going to order this weekend and just need approval from you guys 🙂

Zip Zoom Fly:
barton 2500+
asus a7n8x-e deluxe
logitech mx300
belkin nostromo n52

memory:
Ill probably OC the chip to 3200+ to match my memory, but that is where my only real problem/difficult choice is,
what kind of memory should I get:
Ill definatelly have a gig of PC3200, and only corsair, kingston, or OCZ
should i just stick to cheap/value models, or splurge and get 100 dollar sticks instead of the 80 bucks stuff???
Will it make a big difference when i OC, and are there any compatibility problems with the asus board i should know about?

lite on or plextor dvd burner, 125 or 192 ..... which one should i get?
sony dvd reader, sony floppy
card reader
sata 7200.7 seagate 160 HD
9800 pro

anything else i should know/remember???

thanks

Daniel

for the 9800 pro, should i get sapphiretech or stick with just base ati???
does sapphire do anything to make the card better (only performance wise)
i have found similar deals for both, and i cant choose

also, i have heard bad things about compUSA mail in rebates, should i even try?
300 9800 pro (base ati) - 70 instant - 30 MIR (+ about 12 tax also)

@newegg
215 for sapphire 9800 pro (OEM, not retail)

Thanks

For the ram, just get any name brand ram. Even if it's value stuff, it should work well. From my experience, my Crucial 2100 sticks all run well at CAS 2.5 at PC2700, my bro's Kingston Valueram does PC2700 at CAS 2.0, and a friend's valueram 2700 does 3200 flawlessly.

Even if your ram can't do CAS 2 at PC3200, THG's benches show an extremely small difference between ram timings.

Video card: get the ATi. It's the real deal.

There have been a few driver and memory problems with recent Sapphire cards.

by driver problems, do you mean something other than the generic ati catalyst drivers? they have the 4.1s posted on their site (guess that they arent as "up to date" as ati).
by some funny coincidence, i just had to rma a retail ati card for memory problems. i've sort of noticed that all video cards are getting less robust as they get bigger and faster, at least i've had more problems than i used to.
