Barton 2500+ problems

I built my friend a ShuttleXPC with a Barton 2500+ bout a year ago, and i just noticed as he booted up one time, that his cpu is rated as a "1900+" in the boot screen, as well as in the hardware manager. So i fixed the fsb to 166, and everything went to normal, but not the pc is very unstable and crashed several times. I thought it could be the ram but its dual channel pc3200 so i didnt see a problem there. I have no idea whats goin on with it now, any suggestions?

Perhaps, if you haven't done it already, you could try lowering the RAM to 166MHz. Bartons like 1:1. Um and about the clock speed, I know some motherboards with lower the clock speed of a processor automatically when it fails to boot correctly.

Hope that helped at least somewhat.
