Barton 2500+ PCmark score

I have an overclocked barton 2500+ to 183x12.5, and I obtained a PC Mark 04 score of 3686. Is this about what I should be getting?

pfff...who cares.

is your computer fast? if so, then who cares what some "PCmark" test gives your CPU....

😛

Well, my friend said he got a 6000 something with the same processor, though that might be the 02 version. So I am doublechecking.

And my comp is reasonably fast, though now that its 10 months old or so, I am starting to feel its age.

Overclock it.

I think it is...maybe you meant overclock it some more? 🙂

I get 3402 and I'm running all stock. When I search for identical systems in the Futuremark ORB, my score comes out on top:

Asus A7N8X Deluxe 2.0
Athlon XP 2500+
Corsair 2x256mb TWINX3200LLPT @ SPD: 2-2-2-6
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128mb
Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS
Western Digital 40gb 7200rpm 8mb cache.

For comparison, my 2nd computer scores only 2602, and it's very similar...

Abit NF7-S 2.0
Athlon XP 1700+ JIUHB TBred B
Corsair 2x256mb TWINX2700LLPT @ SPD: 2-2-2-5
MSI GeForce 4 Ti 4200 64mb
Sound Blaster Live! 5.1
IBM 20gb Deskstar 60GXP ATA100, 7200rpm hd

Both computers are plenty fast in Windows, and I have to pay close attention to notice the difference between the two. It's only really apparent when I'm using applications that require quick hd access or fast processing. Gaming of course is another story -- the 9800 Pro completely owns the Ti 4200. Not only is the 9800 Pro faster than the 4200 at the same resolution, but it's still faster when I turn on 4x AA and 16x AF (and the 4200 still has AA and AF disabled)! 😀

Anyway...I think you should be scoring higher. PCMark seems to be mostly CPU intensive, and my stock 2500+ isn't very far from your OC'ed score. My 1700+ and 2500+ have a difference of over 800 points.

Hmmm... for some reason I missed that it was overclocked... it's late... :moon:

He definately did his using 3dmark 02 and not 04 because in 02 I get 4200 with my 1600+

So for an 04 score you are fine. Better yet just run 3dmark 01 as it tests memory cpu and videocard so it's a little more accurate in terms of giving a ballpark figure to others with a similar setup.

Thats what I figured. My RAM is garbage generic PC2700, which really limits my FSB a good deal. I got it for a ridiculously cheap price though, $80 for 4x512 MB at some circuit city deal a while back.
