Bartending school???

check your local adult ed/community college center...they usually offer a program. I've considered doing it, but i keep putting it off.

As good as they can be, you still can't beat experience when it comes to bartending. A bartending class can't do any harm though...

it's not necessary, but it's a lot easier to get a bartending job as someone who's not a hot chick when you've gone to bartending school.

it's fun and easy, as werk's friend said.

I actually had to interview a bartender for a class project last week and one of the questions I asked was about bartending school. He said the classes were BS and that what you need is experience. He also said that unfortunately, bartending is one of those jobs where you have to have experience to get experience. He started as a doorman and eventually became a bartender.

that's how a buddy of mine became a bartender...was a bouncer for a year or two at a club, when he expressed interest in bartending. They got him at the bar, until he served a minor and got fired. STUPID, STUPID, STUPID!!!!

exactly. Experience is all that matters. I did the bartending school thing...you know how many bartending jobs i've had? zero. I had no experience. It is fun, and I had a great time; but if you want to pay from $80 to $200 for 40 hours of a good time, then go for it.
