Barnes & Noble puts Android on an e-reader with the Nook

I'm not too keen on a device that only does one thing, but I am keen on it being Android based.
1st stop: Cell phones.
2nd stop: Book readers.
3rd stop: The world.
 
I really like the idea of lending and borrowing books from someone else and being able to look through all ebooks at the BN store.

I'm still not really sure if I want an ereader at $250. If one hit at $100 and it wasn't a total piece of junk... maybe, but dead trees still work great for me.

Looks awesome...I'll probably pick one up for Christmas after we see where the Apple and Plastic Logic rumors settle.
 
Still not sure I'd fork the dough over for an ebook reader (my blackberry makes do for now), but this is a good step up from the Kindle.

I agree with that as well, besides I like it when women see the large leatherbound volumes on my shelf. They swoon.
 
How is it with pdf's? I have a crap load of pdfs that I would love to read on the go.

Kindle doesn't support pdf zooming, so that is fail.

I don't know about you guys but I am an instant gratification guy. I would love to have an ebook reader but the cost and limited ability really turns me off. I keep holding off in the hopes that Apple will release a larger version of an ipod touch aka tablet. That would be the best of all worlds for me. Something I can do work on and I could really read a book on. I know that e-ink is easier on the eyes, but I read specifications at work all the time so I can deal with the computer screen for reading a book.
