Looks like some of the books had a price markup specifically for this sale? Pricegrabber shows Priestess Of Avalon for like 8 bucks but Barnes & Noble shows it for:

List Price: $15.95
Our Price: $4.98 (Save 68%)

If they are all like this its not really that great of a deal although still 4 bucks cheaper even with a price markup :D

There are thousands of books on sale. I wouldn't assume that the markdown policy for one single book has much to do with how they arrived that the price on the 14,000 others.

I bought several books during this sale last year, they were good deals but man the books were really dirty(literally), like their warehouse is an abondoned coal mine or something.

List price is the price on the back of the book, not the price they were selling it for before the sale.

These are always nice to bump your shipping up to the 'free' price level. It seems like I'm always at $24.98 :D
