Barkley vs Malone

Barkley...at least when at the times he trained and took things seriously he was a beast. He was lazy and like to party more than train and practice.
Also, I always thought he was good entertainment, he was funny, wore his emotions on his sleeve and let you know about it...that is what I liked about him.

Karl Malone was a slightly better offensive player, Barkley was a slightly better defensive player (which means they both sucked at defense.)

In their primes, I'd take Barkley, who had a few better prime years (based on Offensive/Defensive rating) than Malone. And that's without the genius of a John Stockton, who made Malone's game a lot easier.

That guy?

Now, I hate to dismiss an obviously talented guy for making a great career out of a one-trick gimmick....but that's what I'm going to do. Mailman won't nothing without Stockton distributing on the pick and roll and throwing gut punches (lol, Stockton was so hilariously dirty).

The Round Mound was fricking awesome.

Malone hands down.

I was a huge Stockton/Malone fan back in the day. If you look at Malone's career he got better with age. Barkley on the other hand deteriorated by his mid 30's. It was pretty much all down hill from there. Malone actually got better. He developed his 20" jump shot and his free throw percentage went up. If it wasn't for Jordan he would had won at least one ring, possibly two.

He also stayed in optimal shape during the off season. Barkley on the other hand was more concerned with partying and gambling.
