Hi, I have built a couple gaming computer, but for X-mass my dad wants a computer he can surf the web on. I don't want to over spend so i am looking of a suggestion on what to get. He will only use this computer to surf the web. No games or dvd movies.

Duron 850
20gig 5400 RPM
256 MEG PC133 <-- Don't skimp in this category
PCHIPS M810LMR (onboard video, LAN, 56Kmodem, sound)
Cheap cd-rom, floppy,case, kb, mouse, 15in monitor

That's about as cheap as you can get, but you get a really good internet machine (and only internet, but that's what you said)

That was a good spec list but it lacked in the "where to find something of this nature" catagory. There is a barebones setup listed in the "hot deals" forum that's pretty popular and great for the budget minded and upgradeable if your dad ever gets power mad. Just search under keyword "system" and you'll find it, it has a Socket A MB, case, CD, and can't remember. (or you could get him the barbie systm, LOL)
