i looked for another Barcelona thread, there's one about Barc.
shipping in December.

now that one may be right, but when i click on "add to cart"
it adds to cart ... and i wasn't planning on getting one, this year.

Phenom seems to be available for order in the UK. Every etailer I've seen listing Phenom incorrectly lists L2 as 1MB per core however.

That site you put down lists the 2.4ghz phenom as well, which isn't even going to be available. They should be available for purchase tomorrow though.

Barcelona Opterons have been out for a while now... It's just the desktop Phenoms that aren't out yet.

Key words. That is not a desktop processor. If you really want to go the route of a Socket 1207 motherboard just for that then have at it. In the mean time for the same price as that CPU you can have a much faster Q6600 that will work on a $70 Abit IP35-E motherboard.
