I was watching the show RealSports on HBO tonight, and one of their features was about a professor named Neil Williams that believes the game of dodgeball should be banned from schools. One reason Williams gives to support his stance is that dodgeball "encourages the strong to pick on the weak". He has even gone so far as to make a list called the Physical Education Hall of Shame of games that should be banned in PE classes. IMO, this is unbelievable.....it's a complete waste of time, energy, and any money that has been/is put into it already. I didn't know how big of an issue this actually was until I found that Rick Reilly of SI wrote an article about it. I can't believe this is even an issue when there are more important things to address than whether or not the game of dodgeball should be banned. I can see it now....kids that aren't allowed to play games from the "Hall of Shame" in school start begging their parents to host underground dodgeball or musical chairs or duck, duck, goose games. I think this guy was one of the bad dodgeball players as a kid and needs to focus his work on something more important. My $.02
