banned, or no?

i was unable to access the forums yesterday.... meaning, i'd log in and get immediately logged out. i could view the forums, but not participate. now, my question is how do i find out if and why i was banned? also, is that what happens when someone is in fact banned? do you get emailed letting you know you aren't welcome or something like that? 1 day isn't a big deal, but i am curious that if i was banned, what was it for? i'm not really sure how to get ahold of a mod, so i'm addressing the general public. thanks for any info you can give me.

I was concerned yesterday.

I had recently flamed an asshat (no jury would convict me) so I was especially concerned.

Good to know that they tell you when (if? No, when) it happens.
