If you're eligible switch to USAA. I still keep an account at a local credit union because sometimes its convenient to be able to get some things face to face but moved the majority of my stuff over to USAA. Awesome service.

is their banking armed forces only? i know something they offer is... perhaps its just their insurance...

If I remember right somebody posted some info here that said that you could open a banking account somehow without being connected to the armed forces. Let me look around and see if I can find it.

Ok, found some information. It looks like people that weren't in the armed forces can get savings and checking accounts.

Go down to "other individuals" and it makes it sound like almost anyone can get a deposit accounts.

seems that i can...

now just waiting until i can do the opening $25 deposit (i could, but huntington is charging me some bs overdraft fees, so i cant do anything right now)
