Banks are reporting a credit card compromise from P.F. Changs that took place between the beginning of March 2014 through May 19, 2014.
Banks that contacted Brian Krebs reported cards apparently stolen from PFC locations in Florida, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Nevada and North Carolina.
Credit Card information from these locations are showing up for sale on Internet Forums.
Information for sale is from the magnetic stripe on the backs of credit cards. Armed with this information, thieves can re-encode the data onto new plastic and then use the counterfeit cards to buy high-priced items at big box stores, goods that can be quickly resold for cash (think iPads and gift cards, for example).
Appears that those involved in this apparent heist are from Russia and Eastern Europe.
If you used a credit card at a P.F. Changs between the dates listed above in one of the states listed above, it might be prudent to monitor that credit card.
