Well the .gov's stress tests that will determine the fate of the nation amongst other things will be released tomorrow. My guess is that this completely unbiased report will say that all the major banks that have large campaign contributions or personnel in the white house will be given a grade A++++++++++ while a couple of token banks that no one really cares about will be given a fail to give the report an air of repectability. Your thoughts?

releasing these things is not a good idea imo, at least not yet.

It is when you are in an ultrashort ETF on banks.

me2, in a little early, my balls are in pain right now.

If you had invested in a bank you would expect fair disclosure.

I think this will just be an excuse to give away more of the taxpayers money we have not even earned yet.

Bail out the taxpayers, not the banks.

Doesn't sound nearly as bad as some were predicting. Quite a few banks require additional capital, but most already have plans to raise the money themselves (no more government bailouts, yay!). According to Geithner, none of the banks tested are at risk of becoming insolvent.

Part of the problem with these "stress tests" are that it is a scenario that most likely will not happen,... higher unemployment and almost a quarter of the current value in housing being lost,.... and what the banks MIGHT need to remain stable in that scenario.

This could cause people to lose confidence in banks that are stated to need billions in a scenario that most likely won't happen, when the banks are just fine at this time.

Personally, I am glad to see my bank stocks which I invested in early march responded positively today,... up over 100% in less than 3 months,.... doubled my tax return and then some. Now I might sell it and turn it into a couple of nice summer vacations,....
