Based on the 3D center percentage score and the "official Heaven benchmark" thread.



Did some rough math based on these scores and current lowest pricing. No surprises but you can see how much each point of performance costs. Let me know if you want any other card added to the list.

OP - I appreciate the work you've put into your analysis but Heaven isn't a very good indicator of real world performance. It works well when comparing one company's cards against other cards by the same manufacturer but not so well between different manufactures.

3D Center has a compilation of performance across multiple review sites that would probably serve your purposes better. Cards are measured on a percentage scale so it's easy to get the relative performance and then use your own current pricing structure for your analysis.

770 - 380%
680 - 360%
670 - 330%
760 - 310%
660Ti - 280%

7970Ghz - 390%

Yup. I plan to add in some more cards later this afternoon. If this is beneficial I will keep it updated. Any requests in cards, price changes, scoring, etc just let me know and Ill add. Suggestions are welcome.

That's actually incorrect, and it always will be, because prices aren't competitive in the $100 range. The best bang for the buck card right now is the HD7950, followed by the HD7870.
 
there's bang and what will play current and modern games at full detail whilst still being bang for buck

Not sure what you mean exactly by "full detail", but I'd say that anything on that list can play games at excellent IQ @ 1080.

This is what I was responding to, didn't think I needed to quote it but a couple of people ninja'd me. My fault for getting distracted.

I don't agree with his premise (that mid-generation cards are best bang for buck) but I would point out that all of those cards start at around $200. While they may be the best performance per dollar, the baseline cost of $200 can really affect what people get.

I've no idea how many cards occupy the $100-$200 space, but I feel that's an important factor as well (bang for buck in budget category)

I agree with this too, a friend of mine was made very happy when the 7750 he ordered (for £65) turned out to be a 7770, which was still at least twice as powerful as the 5670 that he was used to.

I guess what peole don't know won't hurt them but after experiencing full detail in every game in the last 5-6 years it's hard to go back to less.
