i have my first intel board ever lol (usually an AMD fan) and i got the 780i mobo and the intel Q6600 cpu with 2x1Gb sticks of DDR2 1066, and when i run Sandra bandwidth test i get ~5,300MB/s. which doesnt seem right seeming its 2 sticks in dual channel so shouldnt it be more? i have no idea whats going on with these intel boards :/ since this is my first one

Remember that on Intel designs, all data to/from RAM has to pass through the FSB (CPU->FSB->north bridge->memory bus->RAM); whichever of the FSB and memory bus is running slower will limit the max throughput. Use something like CPU-Z to find out what speed your FSB is running at, and what speed your memory bus is running at.

Like Mondoman said, the bandwidth is FSB dependent.

I would get about 5400 MB/s with the 266MHz FSB (like yours) but with 333MHz I get about 6500. I also use pretty aggressive subtimings recommended by G.Skill.

But the main thing is the FSB speed.
