Bandwidth sharing?

Me and my two roomates currently have 2 cable modems. We had a little incident whenever they were installed because the apt was orginally wired as one. A tech came out and did something and said that we could use both of them on the same line now. The roomates are sharing one cable modem and I have the other.

Would we see a difference if we all went on that router? I guess we are technically sharing bandwidth since we are technically running off of the same line. I work at the ISP that we have and I am going to have the network techs uncap the modem, so we would have no cap on the modem.

What do you guys think? O yeah, I am also going to be running a server from my computer and they play alot of online gaming. Would they see a difference when there are mulitple people connected to me?

There was a thread on a similar topic a few days ago. Load balancing and bandwidth sharing cannot be found on an inexpensive router. In order to do this with hardware, you are looking at about $3000.
