Bandwidth being Hogged?

Hi i built a new system at home and everything was running smoothly. But now im back at school and for some reason it feels like a p2p is running or something. it could be because im on a LAN but this is a school connection so it should be fast.

so i was wondering if there is a recommended program i can get for monitoring things on my actual computer that is using bandwidth.

This is a new build and i have avast antivirus and kerio firewall installed as well as SP2 with all the updates. I don't know why i might be lagging, either cuz of a background trojan or virus. or maybe windows automatic updates, although this lag has been going on for about 3 days now.

Also, i have a lian li pc-60 plus case. My front audio port connectors cannot reach the back to connect to the onboard soundcard. i have a dfi lanparty ut n4 sli-dr mobo. does anyone know what i can do?

no one has a solution to this? or just unwilling to help an un-techsavvy person.

First suggestion: Firewall like Zonealarm or Kerio (my favourite). It will alert you when something is trying to connect.

If that doesn't work, try Spybot Search & Destroy.

Go to process list, and startup list in that program. It will show you what's running(processes) and what starts with the pc (startup).

i used the stickied malware/spyware removal thread word for word. ran all those programs from safemode and i didnt find a single thing. my computer still has lag spikes, i gues its just kids on my floor using p2p on the same network; but its a college LAN so i figured it should be fast.

I still need a suggestion on how i can connect my audio ports on the front of my lian li pc60 case to the back of the motherboard sound card. the cable isnt long enough.
