bandcamp sold by epic

They're determined to fuck it all up. I'd like to see bandcamp get bought by a company that'll leave it alone, and be happy that it makes a profit and gives a bunch of people jobs.

This looks bad. Bandcamp is the only platform I know of that doesn’t screw the artists. Screwing the employees is not a good start.

Damn, i have bought hundreds of albums through bandcamp as they seemed like the best platform over the last decade or two.

i've bought quite a few albums from bandcamp, new owner does not give me a good feeling
I'm over 7k albums. I never heard of Songtradr before. Looks like they were founded in 2014 and have been buying music related businesses since according to wikipedia. I'd hate to see bandcamp move to a licensing scheme.

It's always had licensing. Copyright remains with the artist. I don't know what this means for anything, but I don't like change. Bandcamp was just fine as-is, and I don't see any way this new company can make it better for *my* purposes. Best case scenario is it stays the same for end users, and makes commercial licensing more seamless for artists. That might be an improvement. Otherwise, I don't know where I'll get music from. If it isn't on bandcamp, it virtually doesn't exist for me. I can count on one hand the non bandcamp albums I've bought in the last 10 years.

I sure hope bandcamp keeps existing and in the existing format...
I like it. Bought a few songs and albums that are not possible to buy as other medium or formats.
