The only thing that ruined it (only a little) was the fact that ROSS was in it. I kept waiting for Joey to show up during one of the scenes in a town and walk up to a woman and say "How you doin'...?"

It didn't ruin it for me. It made it THAT much better. Ross is a pansy ass prick on Friends and he played a pansy ass stuck up incompetant leader to the TEE in BOB. Perfect casting :D

Yip, made me want to frag Capt Sobel myself. excellent casting.

Also READ THE BOOK! for the series being 10 hours long it pretty much mirrors the book. That one scene where Capt Spiers runs through that german occupied town during a battle to link up with another squad really happend. the book even mentions that the Germans were just as amazed as the Americans were that he made the round trip with out getting killed. everytime i watch that scene i get massive wood!

I won't go so far as to say it gives me...well..nevermind. But i did find that part unbelieveably awesome. I knew it had actually happened.

I gotta pick up the book....

Citrix, thats the scene I was referring to in my original post. I was in complete awe as that scene unfolded. I remember getting excited when Winters finally called on Spiers to take over during the Foy scene... I had been waiting for Spiers' story to unfold, and boy what a way to have it happen....much like the Wyatt Earp story of not getting hit by bullets in a shootout. GREAT SCENE.

Yea Spiers turned out to be one bad mofo. He served in Korea, Vietnam and did some stuff "on the side" in central America. in the book it tells what happend to all the members of easy. There is a part about Spiers where somebody calls him up and says "hey sir, i served with you in the war" Spiers replies "which war" heheheh gotta love it. He is a true warrior.

My DVD player showed 1 hour 10 minutes for the first episode, I think.

I haven't seen all of the episodes, but I've found that I got more enjoyment (and learned more) out of the book.

That is kinda what i was thinking. I haven't read the book yet, but i want to. At a couple of points in the series i wondered how the author explained the scene (visual details about the sky, land, soilders, etc.) I'll definately be picking up the book thanks you guys.

:)

Barnes and Noble has the paperback at a reasonable price . It's money well spent and it a wonderful compliment to the series, I'm sure.

just my opinion here, but I thought it was god awful and boring.

yep, and your opinion stinks.
Ya, really.

On a more serious note, what made it boring in your opinion? I don't see how it could possibly be boring. Start to finish, all 10+ hours, I was captivated by it and not bored for one second.
