Band-Aids

If I get a cut and it bleeds, I let it dry over. I swear my wounds heal slower when I put them on cuts.

Just depends on how bad and nasty it is.

If it's a open wound then I'm gonna cover it up so it doesn't get infected.

Exactly. If it's a small scratch, I don't bother, but if it's something pretty deep I will.

Exposure to the elements isn't good for wounds. Dirt, germs, and oxygen all harm your chances of healing properly. The purpose of a bandaid is to limit your exposure to those. You may or may not heal faster without a bandaid. But with a bandaid, you'll likely heal without scarring or infections.

band-aid + neosporin works wonders for healing time.

i couldn't believe how fast minor cuts heal with some sort of neosporin.

Same here, though when they're bad enough to do anything more than ignore, the band-aid is only there to hold the neosporin in place.

i use the waterproof ones on papercuts.

also, my daughter likes to pretend she is a doctor and apply band-aids to fake wounds on my fingers.

Yes, started to get a bit paranoid about infections in the past few years. Now, it's alcohol and band aids. ~Had some on my non-shaved legs the past 2 weeks, man it feels good to rip it slow...not).

I usually use one if its a big wound, but now that I think of it, I have not been cut or hurt in many many years. Little cut here and there thats about it. Worse I can think is the time I pulled my hand out of a server I was working in and saw blood bursting everywhere. I had somehow cut myself badly on the case without noticing.

and yes he uses the barbie brand

I use these for larger blisters, but aside from that no.

If I get a large cut that bleeds badly, I might use some gauze or adhesive bandages that I can wrap around the cut (after applying bactine and what-not), but typically said cuts are too large for band-aids anyway.

Liquid band-aide works pretty well. I've had a couple of cuts where i should have gone in for a couple of stitches, but I used liquid band-aide and it worked well. The scars are evident, but I don't really care about that they are on my hand.
Liquid band-aide is basically nothing more than superglue (medicated and not as strong).

Yes, especially if the cut is somewhere that it's at risk of being damaged again. For example, if I get cut on my fingers while at work, it's likely that that finger will endure more punishment as the night goes on. I'm no connoisseur of pain, and I don't feel like trying to scrub dirt out of an open cut repeatedly. Keep a bandage over it, and after a few days it's sufficiently healed.

I prefer the fabric bandages, too. If I use the plastic ones (even the latex-free ones), I develop a blistery rash where the thing adheres to my skin. The fabric ones also have better flexibility and adhesion.

I've always wanted to try the stuff, but I don't get hurt that often, and when it's $4 for a box of 50 band-aids over $10 for a bottle of liquid, no brainer.
