Bananas Foster

mmm...one of my favorites. It's ridiculously easy to make, just have a lid for your pan and a fire extinguisher handy in case you're sloppy with the rum.

Never seen or heard of it until today. Have I not lived life yet until I try this?

Well, it's not something to have on your bucket list and it's not going to change your life, but it is delicious. It's also pretty easy to do, the only trick it to not set the drapes on fire.

Reminds me of when we went out for a company lunch and the receptionist maxed out on how much she could mooch. Must have been 2 different types of drinks, an appitizer, main course, desert. Anyway, besides the point I guess but she ordered the Bananas Foster. When she wasn't looking, we encouranged the coworker sitting next to her to put what must have been a tablespoon worth of salt on one of the slices of banana and cover it with the whipped cream.

Anyway, long story short, she ate like half of it and 15 minutes later we thought she just had no taste buds until with an outburst, she got all red in the face, stood up from the table and throw one of the banana slices at me while we all laughed until our bellies hurt. Apparently I'm the kind of ass that would do something like put salt on her bananas.

I guess I am, but in that case, I was innocent.

If it is done well, it is amazingly good. Also good when you take the idea and use it with french toast.

And make sure you have Frozen Brandy Alexander to go with it. Cold + Hot + Rum + Brandy + Sugar = 😛 (even better when shared with someone for some serious make-out time)

Recipe (like the regular Brandy Alexander)
- 1 1/2 oz Brandy
- 1 oz Dark Crème de Cacao
- 1 scoop vanilla bean ice cream (substitute Half-and-half or Heavy cream for the regular drink)
- 1/4 tsp grated Nutmeg
