Better to grow them from the roots. Find a donor tree, and cut off an offshoot and it's rhizome. Make sure it has plenty of water, and sunlight If you live in a warmer climate, plant them outside, they can form a decent clumping after a few years

HAHaa - fate I guess I do have a banana tree, though, and lived next to a large patch of them when I grew up in Panama. Interesting plants Plaintains are quite good also

Todays commercial bananas are seedless.
If we are not careful, bananas may soon become extinct.
