So, banana ice cream is pretty good: (100% banana)

I use a Champion juicer:

Another example video: (Champion = masticating juicer, very powerful)

There's a specific-use appliance called Yonananas that seems to have good reviews:

You can also use a food processor: (not quite as visually creamy like soft-serve)

Make sure to use ripe bananas: (ripe = spotty, not yellow)

Even Arnold likes ice cream:

Out here in the east we call it "banana whip". It comes out pretty much like a thick soft-serve ice cream. Make sure to use ripe, spotted bananas, if they are yellow or have any green, you're going to get that bitter aftertaste in the ice cream. All you have to do is freeze them & run them through a Champion juicer (or equivalent), that's it! Like magic. Super good with some walnuts or pecans sprinkled on top, along with cinnamon.

Oh, I almost forgot - you can make Magic Shell (the chocolate topping goo that hardens into a shell when you pour it on ice cream) at home, without all the junk in it. Very simple:

4 Tablespoons Melted Coconut Oil (just microwave it for 20 seconds)
3 Tablespoons Cocoa Powder
2 Tablespoons Maple Syrup

Melt the coconut oil (microwave is fine) and whisk in together cocoa powder & maple syrup. Pour on ice cream & wait 30 seconds to harden. You can tweak the amounts based on how thick you want the shell to be. It ends up being fairly dark-tasting as far as the chocolate goes & somewhat waxy once the coconut oil harden, but it's pretty fun to use on homemade ice cream.

2 notes:

1. Had a friend use the food processor method. Said it came out horrible, like dough. Seems to work best on a Champion juicer.

3. Does not freeze well. I recommend this for fresh consumption ONLY.

This is what it looks like, right out of the juicer:

Makes an awesome treat!

the cool part is it doesn't actually taste like banana. just plain / vanilla ice cream. good for smoothies.

We make this often. Freeze some bananas then toss them into the Vitmax. I think my wife might put in vanilla almond milk.

Yeah, I don't understand why it doesn't taste super-banana-y. I mean, it does taste like banana, but it also tastes like almost a vanilla soft-serve. Very weird. Very awesome

The Champion juicer has given me the best results so far. The downside is that it's crazy-expensive (I sprung for the commercial version for third bucks more, about $300 total). It's an animal though, best juicer I've ever used!

Love Banana Whips / Banana Ice cream

It doesn't stop at banana either. Add other frozen fruits or nuts for amazing flavors.

We used to use a Champion, now we use a Green Power Juicer. While a food processor doesn't work all that well, we've made it a lot in a Vitamix blender.
