Baltimore bloodshed,as cops pull back as requested.

Notice no one is blaming guns for this one. As Maryland governor Martin Omalley signed one of the most restrictive gun laws in the country two years ago and guess what, no effect except beretta jobs left the state.

This is further proof that violence is more closely related to poverty and parental and police involvement than guns.
 
So OP, gotta shoot at least one innocent man per month to keep the statistics in check?

Unfortunately in those populations you need to rule with an iron fist to keep things in control otherwise all hell breaks loose.

When you do not have a civilized population, you need to tighten the vice hard. I do not see sharpton and the NAACP protesting so people might be happy now with how things are in Baltimore.

You don't need an iron fist. You need economic opportunity and police that work with the community. Coming in with an iron fist is going to endear no one to the police, just breed resentment and foster the feelings of distrust between the two.

Cops dont prevent crime. They clean up the mess afterwards.

If you wanna get rid of crime you need to improve education. That in turn leads to more and better jobs which directly leads to low crime rates.
 
This is an argument between permissiveness and control. The right approach is a third way. Everybody so far in this thread has a piece of the truth.
