Ballistix "Red" Tracers 2x2gb for $19.99 AR + shipping

Looks pretty sexy! I wonder if these are more reliable than the typical Ballistix of the past year or two?

I'm thinking of stocking up on RAM because all the manufacturers have been cutting back on production for the past half year and supposedly by third quarter or so the prices will rebound.

EDIT: That Corsair is OOS. Still lists in-stock and can add to cart, but can't finish checkout.
 
I just bough these. Just a warning, these come packed with red LEDs. Besides this they are a great value. 4-4-4-12 ddr2-800 at 2.0v for 25 bucks. Hope the rebate goes through.

No worries on the rebate. I use and have used ballistix almost exclusively for years, and their rebates are good to go.

I'm not worried about rebate reliability or how well they run out of the blister pack. I'm more worried about how well they hold up after a few months. I've had several (maybe 4?) Ballistix go bad. One set had a stick completely die so I had to RMA. Other ones just stopped running at advertised speed/voltage. Those have all been 2GB kits and I think this might be my first 4GB Ballistix kit. Wish me luck!

Uh, they are advertised as "red," LOL. Red heatspreaders, LEDs, even red PCB. What will they think of next, red ICs?
 
the last set I got from frys was disappointing. One stick was DOA, the other would not run at rated speed
My 4gb 6400 ballistix set is running at 980fsb 4 4 4 12 1.90 volts - much happier with that set

I've had good luck with Fry's/Outpost customer service. FWIW.
 
Yes, Fry's took care of me. The Tracers "seem" to have a higher failure rate. My $20 AR set will arrive from newegg in a day or two, crossing fingers.
 
Did anyone find a standard UPC ?

Mine just has a thin stripe on the back bottom of the cardboard insert.

By the way, super bling bling RAM thanks.
