Why are you guys going 2G? Don't you lose timings? I mean I've never seen 2G clocking 2-2-2 250 but 1G can do it cheap.. Do you need it? I've never used more than 800MB and that's with Farcry and DVDshrink and about 12 other smaller apps running..

So far as I can tell it's slower, more expensive and not needed.

Battlefield 2? :p

Wasn't Crucial having poor yields with the 2GB Ballistix? They would go bad after a while or something like that.

I don't like the world war type games so I hav'nt tried it yet.. but that's good enough for me. If it goes over 1GB nothing worse than hashing to disk during gameplay.:)

i'd rather run DDR1 with 2-2-2-5 settings than spend the same money on DDR2 with higher CAS but faster clocks

uhhh??? Its only your choice when you choose CPU's. Get AMD and you gotta get DDR, get a new Intel and its DDR2

Sides this thread isnt on DDR2

on the topic, mine runs at DDR500 @ 3-3-3-8 Tried it at lower timings but not stable, didnt mess around with it to much down there though and I havent bothered trying to go higher yet

my copy of Fear uses about 1.1GB of memory alone Then add about 250MB of all the other junk running in the background and ya, 2GB is good to have.
