Baldurs Gate, returns

To my hard drive. Yes, yes at least once a year it is a ritual of mine to re-install Baldurs Gate 2/TOB , try some new mods and a new character party combination.

For thos who care still about this game or my newest adventure for that matter can read further:

Lots of great mods out, some I haven't tried before including widescreen resolution. It sure makes things small on the screen BUT, it works pretty well and looks nicer than ever before. Giberlings Three has a fantastic assortment of mods most noteably the Tweak pack and fix pack - tons of stuff included too much to list here.

This time around I am going with mainly custom created party. Some are chars made from scratch some are NPCS I modified using the Level 1 NPC Mod ( made Nalia a pure sorcerer and Edwin a Wild Mage for example ). This party is mainly evil.

Human Kensai/Mage ( protagonist )
Elf Archer ( Custom made )
Halfling Soulknife ( Custom made thief kit from a mod I downloaded. Lets him achieve mastery in short swords and summon a mind blade which increases Thaco, dmg. Got him using a soundset of Garret from the "Thief" Game )

Then I will mix in NPCs as I feel like but will probably use the following NPCs heavily:
Edwin ( changed to Wild Mage )
Viconia ( changed to Priest of Talos )
Valygar ( changed to cleric/ranger )

Very Light on the tanks and Valygar may not like me much so I may have to put in Korgan.

I doubt once again I will finish the game but the party creation/customization is perhaps the best part. Anyone else still playing this classic?

Oh dude...now I want to reinstall my Collector's Edition!!!!!!

I remember ordering the CE off Interplay store. I live in Canada so imagine how much I paid to have the big CE box delivered to my door...I think it was 95CAD back then! but it was well worth it hehehh!

Ok...gonna try a 172th playthrough soon I guess!

You're not gonna believe this but I reinstalled last month to play another run through, and I couldnt do it.
After about 20 or 21 games, I am finally worn out. I've had enough. Despite the fact its the most awesome anything ever to hit my computer, I just cant play it any more. They really should make something similar, that doesnt piss me off during gameplay.

Oh well, life goes on.

I've died a bit today.

You guys seriously expected your first news about BG3 to be from the AT PC Gaming forum? That's news that'd be on the front page of every gaming website out there. You'd hear about it well before any one posted it on AT.

I don't visit any gaming sites, except when I'm looking up reviews.

I beat it too, one time. In 2000. Never finished it again. Several times a year I make an attempt to do so but never get far. As soon as I tried multi-mod installs I end up either borking something or worrying too much about technical stuff. I still really want to finish it again, and these threads make my heart sink when I start to feel like I never will get to do it.

id like to get BG and BG2 to work without a CD, Id even buy them again off steam or whatever.

My current laptop has no disc drive and I have to plug in a usb drive.

I tried the nocd cracks and they didnt work.

95CAD? Back then, what was that, $9.50USD? Hot Deal!

95CAD? Yes, but 90CAD of that was for delivery. Sled dogs cost a lot to feed.

delivered to your door? Not just to the community Co-op? They even HAVE mail service up thar? Igloos have doors?

Ya'll even HAVE electricity up thar? How many hours do you have to crank/peddle your generator for each hour of video game time?

Seriously, cheers for still enjoying a classic. Currently, I am in Morrowind mode, myself. However, I did just find a Tales of the Sword Coast for 99cents as Half Price Books, so BG1 will have to go back on my nostalgia play list.

I am going to have to stop replaying these old classics. It leaves me no time to play the crappy new titles, even the $60 ones with only 20 hours of non-varying gameplay.
