I am waiting for others to beta the out of beta game.
I am cool with downloading it a few times, but if i have to redownload the game every week, and restart my save every week on a game they say is over 100 hours, then i'll wait for all the critical patches to be done with.
I've been on the fence about BG3 but I've played Divinity OS 1 and 2 for at least 200 hours each. If this game has any similarities then I'll definitely pick it up.
I'm also interested in the multi-player aspect if that's a thing but I'm not sure I'll be picking this up just yet. I do enjoy playing a game well after it's received plenty of patches to fix all the glaring issues that inevitably crop up after a release.
Not intending to side track. This is my major complaint about vulkan, it should work better but in my experience it never does or if it does it comes with some weird limitation like above.Has anyone gotten HDR to work under Vulkan? It only works with DX11 for me.
I believe they've mentioned the sales in one of their past Steam memos or news articles or whatever the hell they are that pops up on the top of the Library page, that they believe the price of their product should be reflected in the quality of the product. I'm paraphrasing, but they definitely have the quality down and those two games are well worth the full asking price just because of how good they are.-I've noticed with DOS 1/2 that Larian tends to be pretty stingy with their sales. I don't think DOS has ever dropped below $10 on steam to date and that game is nearly 9 years old.
1. Yes, you can throw it at their feet. That will heal them.I started to playing.
This is my first CRPG/DnD game ever. Few questions.
1. Can I use a consumable potion and heal someone else? I can seem to only self-drink.
2. Let's say I have 3 skills that each require a short rest. Does this mean I can cast all 3 before having to refresh via resting or I can use/cast only one of the skill before the rest refresh?
3. My fighter is two-handing a long sword and one of the attack says 1d10(1d8)+3 slashing. What does this mean? Is this single attack rolling the two dices at once? (d10 and d8)?
Finesse weapons use the greater of Dex or Strength. Not all weapons can be two handed. Also, pay attention to whether the weapon uses strength, finesse, or is versatile. A strength weapon will add your strength modifier to the damage. A finesse weapon will add your dexterity modifier to the damage. A versatile weapon will add whichever modifier will result in more damage.
I am having a blast with this game, all the different ways to get past encounters.

Yeah, I'm a buff female drow warlock with black eyes and blue and white hair.
I don't know why, with all the options available, you'd design a character that looks like an Uber Eats driver.

Just a depressing fact with a lot of these games that have really well developed character creators. 10% of people will go all in on the thing and spend hours crafting insane unique characters and the other 90% will go with the default WASP character and goooooo.
Dragon Age Inquisition and Origins had the same issue, where you could pick from all these races etc and the overwhelming majority of players went with human male.
I don't get putting down people that just want to have an avatar looks something like them, and doesn't want to spend hours in character creators. I'm in this camp. I look through a couple of presets, finds something close and spend maybe 5 minutes tweaking the hair. Done.
In DA:O I played every origin to the common point. That was one of the best things about it. Seeing the world from multiple perspectives was an amazing way to get introduced to it.
After playing every origin, my two favorites were the #1 Dwarven Noble, #2 Human. I played each of these several times. But I likewise didn't spend ages in character creator.
I don't have BG3 yet, but I probably won't ever play Githyanki, Tieflings, or Dragonborn. Just too alien for me.
Though I probably won't play human either, as they are mechanically the weakest race. I figure I will mainly go elf in BG3, though by the time I get the game, a lot could be changed.
