I may get it someday for my ipad if I'm going on a long trip and need hours of distraction, like I did with the first one.

For all of it's frustrations BG:EE did the trick. I hope they learned from it.

Woot! Though I won't be pre-ordering, gonna wait and see if there are game breaking bugs at launch.

I have the first one, and am having a very hard time with the controls. I have an i5 with a hd7770, but the lag when trying to attack something is just atrocious. I can put my mouse on the target and get the little knife thing attack symbol, but when I click, nothing happens. I gave up on the game because I die constantly, just clicking away with no effect while the enemies kill me. It actually seems to have gotten worse, so now it is like the attack command isn't even being recognized.

Anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions?

I really want this, but having bought BG2 twice already (because of scratched CDs) I've no interest in buying a 13 year old game for the third time and pay $25...maybe for $10.

Was the first one $25 at launch? Seems really high if you ask me. Especially since all I ever really hear is how buggy they are.

I might pick this one up, but I don't know if I'll ever finish it.

I bought the first Baldurs Gate enhanced edition, and I lost interest after about a week. The gameplay of these games just cannot compete with modern games. And while the 2D graphics may have been impressive back in the day on my 19 inch CRT, now it looks horrible to me..

I feel like this game needs to live on in some form or another and this is really the only way to do so. It's just too good of a game to let slip into the past and quietly be forgotten.

On the other hand, I would have been willing to pay premium price for a modern port into a new engine.

I don't know what to think, I'd feel like a traitor if I didn't buy it, but I've played it so many times before. I'll probably grab it the next time I'm on an old-school RPG binge which will probably be a while since I went through all my old games last year and did just that. It's probably going to be a few years before I get the urge again.

Wow, looks like they did an excellent job remastering the art and graphics. The screenshots look pretty damn impressive to me. Shit, looks like I'm talking myself into getting the game!

The price is still a bit too steep for "just" a remake.

Bummer.

For the amount of hours of gameplay this thing has, it's actually worth it.

The original has over a 100 hours, so this may have probably 150 hours of gaming, or even close to 200. I wish they would do a Planescape Torment remake as well..

But when you take into account people like me, who have bought it when it was originally released, including the expansions, and then bought it again years later when my roommate took off with it, and then bought it again when I couldn't find my other copy, and then bought it yet again as a full package (all expansions)...

It feels like $25 is too much. I still have my last physical copy, but want it on Steam. I'll buy it when it hits $5.

Yeah, they got the graphics part right. The rest, I'm not too sure about. I beat all the originals and expansions and was looking forward to a high res trip down memory lane, but I never did bother to buy the first one. Kept waiting for an "all-clear" from the gaming community to suggest that all the major bugs had been worked out and it never came. Still too many problems to be worth fighting with it.

I have all the big boxes sitting on a shelf next to me, and considering I can get a lot of the "Enhanced" experience from mods, I'm also waiting for $5.

I still have BG2 + TOB physical.

I remember playing with Fenixgoon, Userman, and some other AT peeps. It was pretty fun playing a sorc with Timestop, Meteor, and some other AoE spells...

I have the physical copies, the GoG copies, bought BG1EE through Beamdog, and will buy BG2EE through Beamdog next week. After payday.

If you guys want a Torment Enhanced Edition, Cripes that game needs it, you'll need to support Beamdog. They get enough crap from Atari as it is, they don't need the fans dicking them around too.

I don't really think any Infinity Engine game needs an Enhanced Edition, they all work just fine on modern systems with the DDraw fix. I'm not saying the EE's don't offer some unique features or anything, but with how well they work as is, there's no reason not to just play whatever version of Torment you have, or can buy now. Anyway, I don't mean to thread crap.

They all benefit from the EEs, but they are getting increasingly difficult to run on modern hardware.

Torment ran at 640x480, and the widescreen hack is temperamental, at best. Running it at 1440 is difficult. It would benefit from an EE more than the BG games.
