Yea, he's also from here, good job.

Bakersfield in famous moves and as famous places

X-Files the movie was mostly filmed there
The Cell was filmed a little outside the city, the cell thing used was made in Wasco
The Port-o-potty that floated up on the beach in Castaway was made in Bakersfield
Grapes of Wrath, that was like all in Bakersfield
(edit) Almost forgot! We made it in a Simpsons episode! Marge gets captured by the Hells Angels from Bakersfield.

Hrmm, worth noting some girl was on Jeopardy last night from CSUBakersfield. She lost by one dollar. But at least she beat that snooty guy from DePaul.

There was also some cop show that was filmed in Bakersfield, about Bakersfield. It didn't run very long but it was f'ing hilarious! :)

Bakersfield, P.D. First aired in Sept 1993 thru August 1994.

A fish-out-of-water sitcom about a black police officer from Washington, D.C. who transfers to Bakersfield, California to find himself the first black cop on the decidedly odd small town force. Despite likable lead performances and a gently surreal style, it seemed too much like watered down Hill Street Blues and Hooperman to gather a following before its swift cancellation.

I lived in Bakersfield for almost a year back in '97. The only thing cool things I remember were the Drive-In and the Mexican guy who used cut my hair for $5. And my 2-bedroom townhouse that rented for like $300.

I moved out of there after I broke up with my girlfriend. No reason to be in that town if you don't have to be. :p

Wh00t, Kevin Harvick won the 10th Brickyard 400, congratulations b-town man.

Hrmm, and yes Grimmway farms pwnz Bakersfield. It's like Starbucks and <insert city here>.

Hrmm Nyical, I'm guessing you work in the boonies because the only things north of Bakersfield and south of Clovis are stockpiles of poop and other assorted animal goodness.

And Crazyfool... what drove you to the arms of a Bakersfield woman in the first place? Over here we call them Black Widows or Praying Mantis.
