BAKERSFIELD Unite!

You're right, it's not important, but seeing this thread get bumped down a page in 2 minutes is kind of fun.

I never said it wasn't important...

I was just neffing. ya know...bumping your thread up there...

I don't think you'll miss bakersfield.

Bakersfield is the little desert area where people go hunt for shark teeth and look at oil fields and stuff.

Not enough people with Internet access to unite I guess.

Haha what in the world, it's the same reaction when I tell people face to face. They're like, "WHAT? Do you go cow tipping?" Come on, driving by the city of Bakersfield and not actually in it or living in it doesn't qualify that judgement. In fact, I don't even think we have cows near the city. Except for that one <---------. And dang, our farms aren't even farms anymore. I work for Bolthouse Farms and my office is probably bigger than any of the AT people here. Plus it's under two large smoke stacks and countles semi's pass by the factory every day. It's not like tractors or buggies with Amish people come through.

I live in southwest Bakersfield, out near Stockdale High & Seven Oaks.

That is where my parents live, right behind the stockdale high stadium. I used to live there, but now i am in Tucson at the University of Arizona.

Oh, and about the cows, haven't you noticed all of the daries just outside of town?

During the Dust Bowl ear of the 30's didn't a lot of Okies move to Bakersfield?

i'm a former Bakersfieldian

I lived there when I was in 4th grade all the way to 7th.

I attended Stockdale elementary in 1990, and went to Actic Jr. High in 93.

Moved back to Dallas in 8th grade and have only visited Bakersfield once since then. How is the place now? I remember it being fairly small with a lot of open land. Nice place.

Famous people from Bakersfield:

Frank Gifford
Buck Owens
Merle Haggard (not born here but resides here sometimes)
Kevin Harvick
David Carr
Earl Warren
Korn

I live here and work with Jonathon Davis' dad. (Korn singer)

Most people say Bakersfield is a small town. I think the population is like 300,000 in the city limits.
