Bahamas tips?

Spring break starts next week and I'm going on a cruise with some friends to the Bahamas via Royal Caribbean. It stops in Cococay and Nassau - what's there to do in these cities (besides partying and laying at the beach)? Any recommendations on possibly taking a day trip somewhere else from either location?

I would make your "beach day" on their private island.
I am not really fond of Nassau, but when you are there, go to paradise island and take a tour of the Atlanitis Resort. There is an aquarium there and a casino.

When I went I did a day cruise to a private beach that included snorkling it was amazing. I dont remember who ran it but I highly recommend it. The ministry of tourism's website has a lot of good info on it - Bahamas and also the forums on Trip Advisor are extremely helpful. I wish I was going, have a great time, bahamas is one of my favorite vacations ever.

under the bridge between Nassau and PI on the PI side there is a lady that sells food from the trunk of her car. you should eat there, she hooks it up deliciously. take the plate of food and go into the marina (Hurricane Hole), sit at one of the tables at the bar overlooking the harbor and enjoy the meal. I'd suggest the Mahi Mahi w/rice and peas.

To the right of where she sells the food is a gas dock. there used to be an old man that cleaned fish at the end of the gas dock. He fed a huge hammerhead shark like it was his dog with the fish scraps. That hammerhead was well fed!

Thanks for the tips! I really appreciate them. Also does anyone know whether Atlantis still gives out free drinks while you're gambling there? My friend mentioned that to me (he went 3 years ago).

Well....... it's not really free since you should still tip the server.

Cheers,
