Bahahah...my daughter has to do a report on human reproduction

Seems my daugher (Jr. High) has to do research for a report on human reproduction by this Friday. She started working on it tonight since we have stuff planned the rest of the week. My wife said she looked up "penis" on wikipedia, and was shocked by the graphic pictures they have there.

I was thinking "oh geeze...they probably have a picture of a wiener and she's all bent out of shape". So I go there- OMG! *NSFW*!!!! They actually have a picture of a Prince Albert...shaved and unshaved....wtf????? I think users uploaded their own pics too. It looked like a big Craig's List ad 🙂

Sort of off topic, but the open nature of Wikipedia means your daughter shouldn't be using it as a primary source for a research paper. Anyone can edit it (like you've discovered) and the stuff posted may not always be factual.

I had a colleague in grad school use it as a source in a paper he wrote. I was editing it and he fixed it before it was submitted. Another colleague used it as the first source in his PhD thesis - but he had already submitted it by the time I saw it.

My wife went there, not my daugher (I have it filtered on her computer actually). I like to use to to point me in the right direction for legit sources. I wouldn't use any info in there, but Wikipedia does make a good "cliff notes" source.

There are some pretty graphic images on Wikipedia. Sometimes I think it's good that Wikipedia is uncensored, but other times it's pretty tasteless.

I did however look up 'Breast' before 'Penis'.

Wow that is an awesome Breast picture I must say. Is that big scar from breast implants or something else? I think they should have used a picture of natural breasts.
