EDIT: More complete story:
I have a hard drive that needs a firewire enclosure so i can hook it up to a laptop. I tell her I want to go buy one. She asks how much money is in my bank account. I tell her, she says I should wait till my next paychek and then buy it. I know she's probably right, but there's like 40 gigs of data on that drive I'd like access to.

EDIT2: Bah, nevermind. Was looking for some "can't live with 'em, can't live without 'em" kinda comments, but people are taking this way too seriously.
 
Wait, you mean to tell me you pay her rent and car fees, and she won't let you buy electronics and bike parts with your own money? I don't see how she has any say in this, unless she was your wife.

Frivolous or not....who cares? It's YOUR money....YOU worked for and (most likely) EARNED it.

SPEND IT HOWEVER YOU WANT!!! Oh yeah.....and decide that she can pay her own rent and car payment next month with the money that SHE earns. That'll teach her.

She does have a point, I really probably shouldn't be buying some of this stuff I don't need right now. I only have so much cash and I should probably wait until my next paycheck to buy some things. Still though, she brings in less than 20% of the money here, I should be able to be irresponsible if I want too, right?

I guess it must be that vagina that gives her the right, or at least the power. If she didn't have one you wouldn't be paying for her rent and her car now would you?
