Baffling and obscenely idiotic video pulled by PepsiCo

Too many scripts to deal with. It isn't worth all of that.

It's Tyler the creator and Odd Future. They do 'Horrorcore', what do people expect? 😵

Not sure I'd call it horrorcore, but it's definitely unusual stuff, some of which I like quite a bit.

Apparently when they started out one of their things was to "take the swastika" back and were wearing it everywhere. So yeah, what the hell did they expect?

Not having seen the goat before, my biggest problem with the commercial is that if the site hadn't told me it was for mountain dew, I wouldn't have known.

Mountain Dew has had some consistently terrible advertising.

Most of it seems like it's aimed at black people (well...black stereotypes). Which really baffles me, 'cause I'd think the soda has been around long enough that everyone knows it's a cracker drink.

edit: NO MATTA' HOW YOU DO WHAT YOU DO YOU BEST BE DONE DOIN' DAT DEW WHILE DOIN' IT.

I think people just want to be upset with Mt Dew/Pepsi Co for the sake of being politically correct. It was a black rap singer who created the commercial. Calling it racist would be like telling Notorius B.I.G. that he was racist for using the N-word in his rapping. However, whoever at Pepsi thought it was a good idea to run the commercial and didn't foresee the blow back is a freaking moron. The only truly offensive part was the violence against women. edit: but lyrics about that are about par for rap.

So, no controversy about the whole rape suggestion?

I'm confused...why is this racist?

Yea, I'm in this camp. I guess some might complain that that everyone in the lineup was black. But either way, it pales un comparison to the way they're joking about a woman being battered, raped, and threatened.
Ignorant.
It's one thing for a comic to get into dark areas. I may not think it's funny, but I generally respect the effort. But it's just dumb for a corp like Pepsico to go there.

Well you're here talking about it on a forum. Total failure of an ad.

Facepalm.
Not sure you know what ads are for in the context of what you just wrote.

I shouldn't have to describe how this is racist and I think people are playing the fool to pretend otherwise, but yes I agree the assaulted woman is way over the top.

Strangely, one of the greatest commercials ever was also a Mountain Dew commercial, and it also featured a goat:
