Badass helicopter pilot.

Cool harvest method...but expensive. If you consider the cost of a helicopter and fuel per hour....it probably takes them 1-1.5 minutes per round trip to harvest unless parked right next to the trees they were harvesting...

It would be far cheaper to do what most lots do and use cheap manual labor to cut and load the trees with trucks and roads.

I think they were round tripping faster than that, but yeah, I also wondered how this could possibly be worthwhile. But I couldn't really tell whether the load was one tree or six.

I love how a video on helicopter skills devolves into a criticism of harvesting economics within a few posts on ATOT.

Desert Combat rules!

That wasn't bad.

I've had better piloting, tho. Got dropped into a clearing while I was on active duty over 4 decades ago when one of my line medics couldn't deal with one of his "charges" going into heat stroke. I was 2 min. away by chopper, so got 'coptered out to the site to deal with it until the FLA showed up...pilot dropped us into a clearing I swear didn't have 1 ft of clearance anywhere around the blades or tail and he dropped in like an express elevator.

Damned near made me soil myself. But helluva ride. The kid did make it, thankfully. Was seizing when I arrived.

Did a few other flights like that during my years in the Army, every one in very tight, almost inaccessible spots, yet the pilot managed to not kill us landing.

Sorta miss that stuff.....sorta.
