An English longbowman would laugh at the 12 arrows Lars fired at him in quick succession with no power and then put a bodkin through his skull...
He's developed some impressive skills, but I doubt that many of the jumping, fast-shooting, moving target types of techniques were actually very useful in what he calls "war archery." I'm sure there were unusual situations that developed, and people would always want to show off their skills, but for the most part an archer in combat was part of a group firing volleys from long range.
What about American Indians or archers on any horses?
It claims some historical archers were supposed to fire 3 arrows in 1.5 seconds which is again utter horse shit. That is even stupider than the raven killing archers in game of thrones
The mongols used it to ride into and out of range, and release a volley when they could. It was very demoralizing that they could get a volley in with total impunity.I honestly don't know how common that was. If you've ever ridden a horse you know how hard that would be. Easier at a full gallop, weirdly, because the stride smooths out.
In any case, the Mongols and some others made very good use of horse-mounted archers, but I don't know how important it was in a battle to be able to actually shoot while moving. I'm sure it was still important in showing off.
