Badaboom and 2 pass encoding

I have read the anandtech articles on the badaboom app and I am wondering if this app does 2 pass encoding. Or is the quality of the conversion already good enough? I am looking at encoding dvd movies to an avg bitrate of 3000KB with the app.
 
you can try it out i think via a demo on their site

i've only used it a bit (I find it easier to just use the CPU in vdub - hoping for a stand alone codec which supports cuda soon) but looking at the menu there is VBR h264 and then you set the min? bitrate, being 25kbps

I don't seen an option to do double pass, but the one they have is as good as x264 on the CPU it seems

cant set custom resolutions or crop or anything 🙁
