Im not sure my CPU has bad rotten memory controller
It can boot at 305mhz at 2.5-3-3-6,
memtest 1.51+ recoqnize it at 305mhz
but cpuz memory tab read as 288mhz, cpu/dram: CPU/9

305mhz

288mhz

what u guys think?

edit: 305mhz pic corrected

it's just how the A64/mobo calculates the mem frequency using 8.5 or any half mult that causes your mem to run slower than it actually does

the way it's calculated...

8.5 x 305 = 2592.5

mult gets rounded up to 9

2592.5 / 9 = 288

that's why cpu-z shows 288 :)

hope that makes sense

In other words, half multipliers are available for CPU multipliers... but the memory speed is set by dividing the CPU core clock speed by a number, and those numbers can only be whole numbers.

it's a pseudo divider in a sense because it rounds the mult up

so 8.5 goes up to 9... 9.5 goes up to 10 etc...

so yeah the mem frequency gets divided
