So we went to the new ride Kingda da in NJ, six flags great adventure on Saturday.

Towards at the end of the ride, a metal object as my wife felt, hit her nose at high speed.

When we stoped, I looked at my wife, her eyes were red, tears, in shock, all she could say something hit her, and the rest of the day she was in shock and we didn't go to one ride. Now her nose area is in pain. I don't think anything is broken, but if she feels pain in few days, we will go to a doctor. I didn't go complaining because this would cause her to go more emotional. She looks alright, but she is very emotionally shocked and doesn't want to go to a roller coaster ride ever again... What chances 1 out of million something hitting a person during a roller coaster ride... This ride is 48 stories high and goes up to 128mph....

I hope your wife is ok.

This made me think of Fabio when he went on that rollercoaster and a bird flew into his nose. Pictures were taken of him when he got off of the ride; he had a bloody nose and a "WTF" face.

Is it possible that something fell out of another passender's pocket, or something, and struck her?

And no matter how emotional she gets, you MUST go to the staff about any accidents like that.

You should have at least reported it for safety reasons. I'm sure the park would want to know if screws/bolts/whatever were falling off the roller coaster.

yeah, it could have potentially been a bolt or something from the ride, and needs further inspection.

you definitely should have reported it. another thing, consider your wife lucky that she was not harmed more seriously. if it hit her nose, she could have easily lost an eye, or much, much worse.

I'd think if your wife got hit by a bolt she'd have more damage to her. It is a shame she was injured and it should have been reported.

Had to have been something from another rider. Those coasters have sensors all over that detect falling objects. It is senses one the ride shuts down immediately. No I am not an expert or stay at a holiday inn express... but I sent my wife and daughter on the Incredible hulk roller coaster last week. Same lame-o snuck a bag on which fell from the car. My wifes ride was over but they got stuck for 30 minutes before they could exit the ride.

I've been wanting to go on that ride for a long time. NJ resident.

Sorry to hear what happen.

From the sheer velocity of the ride anything could of hit her and caused damage. Though with the record that ride has had I would of reported the incident asap.

BTW, how do you know it was metal? If it really was metal at 128Mph, it would have been more than a sore nose. I'd bet it was a bug or something.

My thoughts exactly, say a bolt hit your wife at 128mph..id be highly shocked if it didnt go through her head completely, let alone bounce off.

I rode king-da-ka last year... my cell phone went out of my pocket. Probably the same with a quarter or something falling from someone elses pocket. That ride is nuts. Sorry to hear about your wife man.

That's what I was thinking.

EDIT: Not to mention I heard from multiple people around here in NJ they closed KingDaKa for good about two weeks ago?
