Bad Ventilation?

Hi all,

My PC temps are a little high for my liking. At Start up they are about 51 / 30 (CPU/MB) then once it has been on for a while it will idle at 54/35. Underload they can go up to 62/37. I have a ATX Tower with a 80mm fan sucking cold air in from the front at the bottom, and standard CPU and Power Fan (400w)

Last night I then put the Unit on its side and opened up the side panel and left it to idle for about 3-5 mins. The temps dropped down to 42/26.

Has anyone got any suggestions as to better my Temperature Situation?

Thanks in advance

how is the air intake? is ita small little hole or a pre fabed fan grill that covers alot of surfave area? after that look at the exaust. plus you didn't say what heat sink/fan you are using, if you are using Amd's stock, i would also shange that.

whats ur case? if its a sh*t case then fix it. if its a dell or something, they don't bother, not worth the trouble.

The front air intake only consists of 6 small holes at the bottom, is this enough??

The power fan is blowing out hot air and there is a holed grill at the back stretching from top to bottom.

The heat sink is AMD's stock.

Get a better heatsink. Then your cpu temp will come down, and that excess heat will all be blown out into the case. Then you'll see if your airflow is sufficient to remove all that heat, and go from there.
