BAD SPIDER BITE? Do I need medical attention?

I've had a recluse bite me before, but thankfully I am nearly completely unallergic to whatever it is they inject you with so it was never worse than a mosquito bite . . .

but if you are very very allergice (like the thumb guy) you should get medical help.

btw, I remember reading that the thumb pics were fake . . . . I think it was last time they hit these boards. Don't really know. Why would a guy just let that thing fester if it was real?

If you look at day 9 and 10 pictures you can see sutures around the wound. Also you can see medical equipment in the background. In day 9, in the lower right section of the picture you can see a bit of a pink bin. Day 10 shows a table with a bunch of medical supplies on it. Also the carpet is a different color then the background of day 3-6.

The only that makes me think its fake is why would he take pictures of it if he wasnt going to the hospital? Why would he take pictures of the first 6 days and not go to the hospital until day 9?

a tick bite!?!?!?!?

ticks are fricken tiny, and they burrow into the skin

my dad had a tick that bite him, and when he pulled it out it left the head. Looked something like that. Had to go to the doc and have them cut out the head, no big deal (except he can't stand needles much less a scalpel :laugh😉.

Came here after seeing the picture in the "latest" gallery, thought "damn, who is the poor bastard with the recluse bite?"

1. Tick bites don't react that way, that quickly.
2. You said you felt something walking but not the bite, BR are known to bite without you feeling it. (one question that helps with diagnosis)
3. If it were me...I'd be at the ER.
4. If you are going to take that nurse's advice look damn closely at the bite for darkened skin, if that shows up GO BACK TO THE ER IMMEDIATELY. Once the necrosis starts it needs to be removed.

Good luck, hope it wasn't a BR. (On the positive side, when it turns out to be a BR bite, and the nurse diagnosed you in the waiting room and gave you calamine lotion for it consider your medical bills paid for.)

You're supposed to put alcohol on ticks, it makes them release their grip and fall out. If you try to pull them off, the head part stays in your skin.

That's no tick bite. Ticks are all "RAWR, LETS GRAB ON HERE, BE STEALTHY AND SUCK BLOOD" not all "RAWR, LETS BITE THIS BITCH AND MAKE HIM SWAT AND SCREAM IN PAIN"

looks like a yellow sac spider bite.No biggie. You are never more than three feet from a spider. If spiders grew to the size of a common house cat,the human race would be wiped out in two years.Spray for bugs .

Illusion is right about the tick's head. If that is a tick bite you probably ripped his head off and that is why it is infected. Not nearly as serious as a BR bite but it could get pretty infected and gross out everyone you talk to. Look at it closely and see if you can tell.

LOL  For some reason this forray into the mind of a tick struck me as extremely funny.

As for that "tick" bite, I've seen a few tick bites over the years, and none of them looked like that. I dunno, but I'd keep a close eye on it to see what happens, and definitely go back to the DR. on Monday.

SO THE SPIDER IS STILL AT LARGE IN YOUR HOUSE??

/begin spiderparanoia

That was my first thought. If that beast was loose in my house, I would be hunting it down and slaying it rather than posting on ATOT. It's not a friggen honeybee! He's coming back you!

If they have hedgeapples up there in Rochester, get some, and place them in the garage and next to the house about every five ft. for so. Oh, and spray poison year round 10 ft. around the house.

/end spiderparanoia

I live in relatively new construction and have managed to kill every wood spider and jumping spider in a 10 mile radius. 🙂
