Bad sectors in Transcend SSD720 256 GB is it normal?

Hello,

I purchased Transcend SSD720 256 GB ten days ago and installed Windows 7 64 Bit without having a problem. Then I ran some test on this drive and it says I have bad sectors in it. Shoud I worry about this and RMA it or this is normal? Thanks for the information. Here is my screenshots.

Hmm, I'd keep an eye on if the Reallocated Event Count increases, any more than the current 14, over the next week or so. If it does, I'd RMA it for sure. I'm guessing it will.

RMA it now and get a new one from the retailer.
If you RMA after 30days you might get a refurbished one..

I would replace that SSD.

A perfect Raw Read Error Rate attribute value would be 120. Your HD Tune screenshot is showing 105, while the RRER in the HD Sentinel screenshot has dropped to 95.

If you refer to the SandForce documentation, you can see that the number of actual errors in each sample has increased from 11 (=0xB) in the CrystalDiskInfo screenshot to 18 (= 0x12) in the HD Tune screenshot, to 39 (= 0x27) in HD Sentinel.

The other odd thing is that the Drive Power Cycle Count has already been exhausted. Both CrystalDiskInfo and HD Tune are showing raw values of 41, whereas HD Sentinel has maxed out at 4 billion (= 0xFFFFFFFF). I don't know whether this is significant. It may be a firmware bug, or a misinterpretation on my part.

If it's brand new, return it now. It should not have any reallocated sectors from the factory, or any time shortly thereafter. If it's used, but you just got it, watch the count, and see if it goes up or not. A bad cable, unstable OC, or unstable power, can also cause them to jump.
