The Abyss. Pretty boring and the part where the guy starts breathing in liquid oxygen was pretty retarded.

that was a great movie. and it wasn't liquid oxygen. it was some kind of oxygenated liquid.

I'd have to go with Andromeda too....

Andromeda had a lot of good eps. I haven't seen any of season 5, but season 4 was weird. Seasons 1 thru 3 were good.

For those that say its 'Hercules in space'. You are wrong, plain and simple. You're just responding to Kevin Sorbo's highly successful role as Hercules. He definitely matures, as his acting in Andromeda is superb.

that was mostly just a joke...

oh, and trance gemini who was played by Laura Bertram was also on a quintessential Canadian show called "ready or not" <- that was some pretty nostalgic stuff 😀

you mean theres no such thing as liquid oxygen 🙁

Theoretically, if you cool off any gas sufficiently, you can get it to turn into a liquid state. You just wouldn't want to actually breathe/drink it, much like liquid nitrogen.

Which is why the idea is so horrible.

BSG 😉

*dons flamesuit*

Kidding aside, it really is one of my least favorite sci-fi shows, and everyone talking about how good it is only strengthens my position.
U think bsg is that bad???? Wow what kind of sci-fi fan are you????

hmm what about EARTH FINAL CONFLICT good or not?????

Was that the one Gene Rodenbery wrote the pilot just before he died?

Yeah. First season was good, I thought. But after that, it got dumb.

I like the action on Galactica, but some of the story lines really annoy me. WTF, how can a robot be pregnant? Why do these dumbasses even allow it to stay on the ship? Shove it out the airlock and be done with it!

How about the pathetic Buck Rogers in the 21st Century TV seris... that had to be one of the worst scfi productions of any kind!

a)boomer is a cylon clone of a human being - she's human but has certain implanted memories to perform an action; even cylon boomer had no idea what she was going to do

b)Chief, and now Helo both have feelings for cylon Sharon and killed a man to protect her - I don't think they really could throw her out an airlock.

c)boomer has given Galactica a bunch of important information about the cylons and thier strategies (remember when she infected their ships?)

Anyways, just have to watch a little more closely (or twice😉) to catch what you've missed

Andromeda, Farscape, and BSG are completely unrealistic. Especially BSG. If they were actual military, I would expect them to act like it. For instance, There's one episode where that asian chick flies into a battle star to set a nuke. Everythings normal until they actaully get around to setting the nuke. First of all, she WALKS around the ship, and takes about 3 min to set the nuke. Then a bunch of her clones show up and she freaks, and barely makes it out alive. If she was military, the nuke would need about ten seconds of work to arm it, and then they would get the hell out of there. Similar to the people in War of the Worlds movie. Big hole in the ground + growing cracks, yet they don't really run until the thing starts shooting people. I for one would have been running my ass off as soon as the earth started to open up.

In the case of BSG, entertaining stories and good acting let me overlook some of the un-realistic scenes done for the sake of pure drama.

Worst...
...most of the horror SF shows on the Sci-Fi channel. These straight-to-video crapfests have done a great disservice to good SF.

Jurassic Park 2 - It's like they read the first half of the book, then decided the 2nd half wasn't crappy enough so they totally ignored it and made up an even worse story.

Battlefield Earth - the movie barely made a pretense out of following the book.

The Phantom Menace - 'nuff said

The skinfest known as Cleopatra 2525 (or whatever, I barely made it through 1 episode)

Good...
I liked Lexx, BSG (old and new), Andromeda, and Dr. Who. 😱

That is not liquid oxygen.

That liquid was discovered in the 70's. I have seen it used on mice. Dip the mouse into it and it still breathes. 10 mins later, take it out and the liquid drains from its lungs and breathes air normally. No harm done.

No, he's right. The only reason we can't breathe water is that the oxygen in it is bound up and our lungs can't get to it. Several liquids have been created that you can breathe, but I'm told the experience is a bit painful when getting used to having your lungs filled with liquid. Do a google search on breathable liquid, pretty cool stuff.
